Namma Metro Yellow Line Routes

The Namma Metro Yellow Line is one of Bengaluru’s most eagerly awaited metro corridors, stretching from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road (RV Road) in Jayanagar to Bommasandra in the southern industrial belt. Spanning approximately 18.8 km and featuring 16 elevated stations, the Yellow Line is set to revolutionize connectivity across major residential, commercial and IT hubs in South Bengaluru.

Why the Yellow Line Matters

Efficient Connectivity: It connects Jayanagar to major tech corridors such as Electronic City, Hebbagodi and Bommasandra significantly reducing travel time.

Seamless Interchanges: Interchange stations at RV Road(Green Line), Jayadeva Hospital (future Pink Line), and Central Silk Board (future Blue Line) enable seamless transfers across the Namma Metro network.

Traffic Relief: It provides critical congestion relief along Hosur Road, especially around the notorious Silk Board junction.

Inauguration & Operations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Yellow Line on 10 August 2025, with commercial operations likely commencing on 1 August 2025.Initially, trains will operate at a 25‑minute frequency, improving to 20 minutes later in the month as additional train sets arrive. Operating hours are from 5 AM to 11 PM daily, with peak‑hour frequency estimated at 4–6 minutes and off‑peak at 10–15 minutes.

Fare ranges from a base of ₹10 to a maximum of ₹90, depending on distance traveled, with discounts available for smart‑card users.
